Summer Term 2022 Recap of SCU Values Recognition

September 2022

To promote and celebrate SCU’s values, the SCU Culture Crew recognizes a student, faculty, or staff, each month, who lives our University values, and/or the attributes named in our mission statement, including:

To increase recognition of the great work people are doing and amplify SCU culture and values, following is a recap of our Summer Term 2022 SCU Values Winners:

Sivarama Prasad Vinjamury headshotMAY 2022

The May 2022 SCU Values winner was Prasad Vinjamury, BAMS, Masters in Ayurveda, MAOM, MPH, L.Ac, Assistant Director, Eastern Medicine Department, Director, Integrative and Family Health Services, Director, DACM Capstone Projects.

Congratulations, Dr. Vinjamury! His Certificate of Recognition honors his honesty. His nominator wrote that “He’s the most amazing Professor and Doctor in the Clinic!”

Dr. Vinjamury has been at SCU since 2001, serving as both a faculty member and a clinician. He says his favorite thing about working at SCU “is the opportunity to integrate my eastern medicines’ – Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) knowledge in my three favorite roles: faculty, clinician and researcher.”

Preetideep Singh headshotJUNE 2022

The June 2022 SCU Values winner was Preetideep Singh, M.D., Interim Assistant Dean/Associate Professor, Interprofessional Education Department.

Congratulations, Dr. Singh! His Certificate of Recognition honors his commitment to integrative health and determination. Dr. Singh’s nominator wrote that “He was outstanding during IPE week with enthusiasm and determination to involve all students.”

Dr. Singh has been with SCU for past five years. He started in Sept. 2017 as a part-time faculty, followed by becoming full-time faculty, Department Chair, Basic Science, and now currently serves as Interim Assistant Dean, of Interprofessional Education (IPE).

He says his favorite thing(s) about working at SCU are “In addition to the mission, vision and values, the most amazing thing about working at SCU are the people I work with and the students we serve. The culture of the university is embodied in everyone working here.”

His favorite accomplishment he’s achieved here at SCU is “spearheading the IPE Model at the University.”

Robert BoggsJULY 2022

The July 2022 SCU Values winner was Robert Boggs, EdD, University Registrar.

Congratulations, Dr. Boggs! His Certificate of Recognition honors his commitment to inclusivity, kindness, integrity, humor and determination.

Dr. Boggs has been with SCU for two and a half years, now. He started the Monday after the world shut down due to COVID!

He says his favorite thing about working at SCU is “the ability to have an impact on a University that has such a rich history as SCU, along with the rewarding feeling of seeing students graduate and achieve their goals.”

The August 2022 SCU Values winner was Anupama Kizhakkeveettil,

BAMS, MAOM, L.Ac, Ph.D., Program Director and Professor, Ayurveda Medicine Department

Congratulation, Dr. Anu! Her Certificate of Recognition honors her humor. Dr. Anu’s nominator wrote that “she is full of life and every class she leads is filled with laughter, fun and good humor. We enjoyed our weekend class with her where she led a dry class of pathology with role playing and intelligent humor.”

Dr. Anu has been with SCU since 2004. She is the Founding Program Director of the Ayurveda Medicine Department.

She says “It is an honor for me to work at SCU. The role I have at SCU is fulfilling my dream to propagate Ayurveda. My heart is in both the education and practice of Ayurveda. I have this opportunity at SCU to curate and standardize Ayurvedic education, interact with students and set goals to achieve higher competencies. On the clinical front, SCU has provided me the infrastructure to run a full-fledged Ayurvedic clinic for our community at large.”


SCU Values nominees receive a certificate for recognition of living SCU values and are entered into a monthly drawing for a $20 Amazon gift card.

SCU Values nominations can be as simple as “I would like to nominate [Person’s Name] for the value of [SCU Value]. They did [activity that exemplified the value].” One or two sentences will be sufficient.
