SCU’s Phoenix Metro location is at Sonoran University of Health Sciences in Tempe, AZ. The Phoenix Metro location seamlessly integrates modern amenities such as labs, a student lounge, study rooms, a library, a yoga studio, and a chi fitness room with the natural beauty of its surrounding desert landscape.

The SCU Phoenix Metro location at Sonoran University demonstrates both institutions’ commitment to sustainability, holding a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-platinum certification, the highest honor awarded for using best-in-class building strategies and practices.

Students will take all experiential learning requirements on the campus.

Our dedicated Housing Concierge will work closely with you to identify customized housing options that match your personal preferences, lifestyle, and budget. SCU’s Learning Resource Center (LRC) provides access to over 14,000 academic journals and 100,000 e-books, including limited assigned textbooks. It is a gateway to information resources and services, and a space for independent study and collaboration.  Most of the resources are available online

SCU has partnered with AllOne Health to provide a Student Assistance Program (SAP) to students 24/7 through telephone, chat, and web access. Reduce stress and stay motivated in school when you receive the right information, resources, and referrals. All SAP benefits are free, confidential, and available to you and your family members.

Campus safety is here to serve you from 6 AM – 10 PM, 365 days a year, with professional officers who are ready to assist with everyday tasks and questions, as well as being properly trained in emergency response.

Yes. The Chi Fitness room is available to students. The room has free weights, cardio equipment, and a power rack.  In addition, there is a Yoga Studio available. There are a number of student-led classes to help you unwind. The bright studio with views of South Mountain will help you relax and work on your mind, body, and spirit connection.

The Phoenix Metro Location provides students with a variety of areas to study or take a break before, between, and after classes.  The library, student lounge, study rooms, and outdoor spaces provide study areas for group and individual study.

Yes and Yes! The location also includes a parking ramp that provides covered parking.

The Phoenix location does not have EV charging stations.

Getting to the Phoenix Metro Location (Tempe, AZ)

Students attending SCU’s Phoenix Metro location, at the Sonoran University of Health Sciences in Tempe, have several convenient public transit options that make commuting simple and affordable. The location sits just off East Broadway Road with easy access to Valley Metro’s light-rail, bus network, Tempe Streetcar, and Tempe’s free Orbit neighborhood shuttles.

Valley Metro Light Rail

The Valley Metro Rail connects major areas throughout Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa. Students traveling from downtown Phoenix, North Phoenix, or Mesa can take the light rail to one of the Tempe stations, such as the Dorsey/Apache Blvd Station, and transfer to a connecting bus for a short ride to campus. Light-rail service runs seven days a week with dependable schedules and frequent service during peak hours.

Valley Metro Bus Service

Several Valley Metro bus routes operate near the location, providing direct access from surrounding neighborhoods. The nearest bus stops are located along East Broadway Road within a short walking distance of the facilities. Students can use the Valley Metro trip planner or mobile app to confirm specific route numbers, schedules, and transfer points.

Tempe Streetcar

The Tempe Streetcar (S Line) offers a convenient option for students living or working in downtown Tempe, along Mill Avenue, or near Apache Boulevard. The streetcar connects to the light-rail system and to key bus routes, making it easy to hop between modes and complete the final leg to campus via bus, bike, or a short walk.

Tempe Orbit Shuttle (Free)

Tempe’s Orbit shuttle system provides free, neighborhood-based transportation throughout the city. For students living in Tempe, the Orbit may be an easy and cost-effective way to reach nearby transit hubs or complete short connections to the location. Orbit shuttles run frequently and offer a practical alternative to driving or rideshare services.

Campus tours are available by request.
