Education that Goes Beyond Boundaries
And BEtween Disciplines.

Integrative Whole-Person Learning in Interprofessional Settings
REAL LEARNING FOR REAL LIFE
Healthcare that improves outcomes and lowers costs takes a team effort. You’ll learn alongside other disciplines and get exposure to integrative whole-person healthcare through a variety of philosophies, practices, and treatment options.
The Clinical Experience
Your education at SCU goes beyond lecture halls and textbooks. You’ll spend significant time in clinics learning from practicing professionals and real patients — not confined to the walls of a classroom.
Clinical skill is based on experience. This is the time to develop physical examination maneuvers (with the help of attending physicians), learn how to interpret medical laboratory studies, and learn how to treat the whole person, early on.

What Our Students Are Saying
“Dr. Sermeno makes sure you understand [the material] to the best of your ability. If he is presenting in a way you are still not understanding, he will present it in a different way so you can understand. I appreciate that. He is in practice as well and brings that knowledge to campus so we have an idea of what is going on in the outside world on campus and real-life ideas.”

I chose SCU when looking for a PA program because of their Integrative Medicine approach. I am from Michigan, and not many programs focus on this Integrative, Holistic approach when it comes to patient care in the Midwest, and I felt that was very important for me to learn as a future provider. My transition to semi-virtual learning has been very smooth and quite enjoyable. My favorite part about attending SCU is how tight-knit and diverse the community is. Coming from a large undergrad university and moving so far, it was very important for me to have a PA program that made me feel valued and invested in my success. At SCU, they do a great job of making you feel that.

I chose SCU because it focuses on integration, which is really important to me, especially as someone going into something that is considered alternative healthcare. I wanted to be part of a program that focuses on looking at these traditional forms of medicine and bringing them forward into the modern present-day and finding ways to utilize them with other practitioners. So, I think one of the greatest things here at SCU is the teachers' focus on the tradition of Ayurveda but also how to bring it into the modern medical world.

The main reason why I chose to come here for PA school was because of how amazing the staff and faculty was, they were all so nice, helpful and welcoming during the admissions process including my interview. Once I stepped on campus, I felt like I was finally home, getting that phone call that I was admitted to SCU was truly the best day of my life. I have now completed my first year of school and that feeling has not gone away. Our cohort is very close with the faculty and staff, who are always available for help. They have made the transition to online learning seamless. I have no doubt that they are fully preparing us not only for the PANCE exam but also to be excellent providers.
