Receive advanced training through SCU and affiliated residency programs. We offer a variety of dynamic programs that will help you gain specialized knowledge and skills to take your career to the next level.
During the program, you will be mentored by senior sports medicine chiropractors that are known nationally and internationally for their expertise in the field. In addition, you will participate in exciting, real-world sports and integrated healthcare settings, providing care for all levels of athletes from high school to world-class professionals. Residents selected for rotations with professional teams will travel throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Get the advanced clinical experience to become a board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic in Sports Medicine through a two-year residency program. Upon completion, you will be eligible to sit for the Diplomate examination of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (ACBSP).
SCU’s affiliated chiropractic residency program with the VA focuses on Integrated Clinical Practice, with training emphasizing the provision of chiropractic care in an integrated healthcare system, collaborating with primary care Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACTs), specialty care, and other medical and associated health providers and trainees.
The residencies provide advanced clinical training in complex case management, allowing recent graduates to increase their scope and depth of clinical knowledge, experience, and acumen. Residents are mentored by senior VA chiropractors who are national leaders in integrated chiropractic practice. These clinicians share their expertise in patient care, academics, and research to provide a robust educational experience.
This 12-month, competitive chiropractic residency program at Elevate Life Clinic in Annapolis, MD, is tailored for recent graduates from a CCE-accredited chiropractic program. The residency offers clinical rotations, support for scholarly activities, and membership to the Brookbush Institute. SCU serves as the Multidisciplinary Chiropractic Residency’s academic affiliate; recent SCU graduates (and those scheduled to graduate from SCU) are guaranteed a virtual interview on application.

The Chiropractic Integrated Clinical Practice residency is a full-time, one-year, hospital-based postgraduate training program for DCs seeking innovative training and experiences relevant to careers in hospitals, integrated medical systems, and/or academia. The residencies provide advanced clinical training in multimorbid case management, allowing recent graduates to increase their knowledge and acumen under the mentorship of senior VA chiropractors. Residents gain valuable interprofessional experience by collaborating with primary care providers, medical and surgical specialists, and associated health disciplines.

The residency strives to develop exceptional, evidence-informed, outpatient physical medicine and leadership skills. The residency will support skill development through post-graduate training and exposure to integrative care. Residents will treat patients for 30 hours per week while participating in other aspects of the program. Multidisciplinary rotations include chiropractic, physical therapy, primary care, and acupuncture. Clinical mentor meetings, support for scholarly activities, and grand rounds are among additional opportunities.
