Student Testimonials

Angelica Robles
BSHS Alumni (2022), Doctor of Chiropractic Student
I graduated from the Bachelor in Health Sciences (BSHS) program at SCU and entered the Doctor of Chiropractic program one term ahead! With the Bachelor of Health Science program being online, it fit perfectly with my schedule and allowed me to create a study space at home without needing to travel to campus. I took two asynchronous courses every 7.5 weeks, but the flexibility of when I could study, whether on the weekend or during the weeknights, made it more accessible. The professors were also great and personable. When I needed help in a course, they would respond quickly with excellent feedback and helpful tips and relate the course to their learnings. I am happy to now be on my way to becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic and thankful for my time in BSHS program.

Jessica Rodriquez
Alumni, Master of Science in Health Science
I chose the MSMS program because I am an inspiring physician, and this program focuses on the rigor of what it would be like for the first year of medical school. As a first-generation student, I wanted to be more competitive when applying to medical school, and this program helped me achieve that. My favorite course in the program was the Neuroscience course; Dr. Green and Dr. Nygard were the best instructors. They made this challenging course easier to comprehend. I liked that they focused on the clinical manifestations because I am interested in that area as an inspiring physician. As a CNA and a Nurse Assistant, I could see how a neurologist would perform these neurological exams on patients, so it was extraordinary for me to learn about it and conduct it.

Clara Chan
Alumni, Master of Science in Medical Science (MSMS)
The most memorable aspect of the MSMS program was the connections and relationships I created with the faculty and students. I was able to attend office hours and got to learn more about my professor’s experience in healthcare, get help on class material, and advice to help me on my path to becoming a Physician Assistant. I also got to know my cohort personally through zoom meetings and study groups, conquering the material together. I am grateful for the support I have received through this program, which is something that I cherish.

Aniyah Gathing
Graduate, Master of Science in Human Genetics and Genomics
I’m delighted to end the year by sharing that earlier this month I completed my Master’s degree in Human Genetics and Genomics.
Graduate school was both challenging and transformative, making it one of my proudest accomplishments. It required persistence, discipline, and adaptability while balancing work, personal responsibilities, and moments of self-doubt. This experience strengthened not only my scientific knowledge, but also my resilience, confidence, and clarity about the work I want to contribute to in this field.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.
