The LACC Advisory Board is composed of academic experts, industry leaders, and chiropractic experts from around the world.

Sira-Borges

Sira Borges graduated in Medicine from Bahia School of Medicine and Public Health in Salvador, Bahia, in 1971, and in Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa in 1990. She was the third chiropractor in Brazil and the first woman. Sira was the founder and president of the ABQ Brazilian Chiropractic Association (1992 -2002) and a leader responsible for the development of Brazil’s first two chiropractic programs, at FEEVALE University in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, and Anhembi Morumbi University in São Paulo (1995 2002). She was also the coordinator of the Pro-Regulatory Commission for Chiropractic in Brazil CPRQB (2006-2010). Since 2006 she has served as the Executive Director of the Latin American Chiropractic Federation (FLAQ) and since 2002 has been the Latin American representative of the IBCE (International Board of Chiropractic Examiners). Her many awards include the World Federation of Chiropractic Honor Award for outstanding contributions to the international development of the profession (2011), the Brazilian Association of Chiropractic Service Award from the Brazilian Chiropractic Association ABQ (2012), the Lee Homewood Outstanding Pioneer Award from the Association for the History of Chiropractic (2015) and a Fellowship from the Palmer College of Chiropractic (2017).

Francisco-Gutierrez

Dr. Francisco Gutierrez is the Head of Medicine & Health for Cintana Education. He is responsible for setting the strategic direction and conducting the operations that help the Cintana affiliates grow and improve their quality and differentiation in their markets. He brings more than 25 years of experience in health and higher education around the world. In his most recent role as Senior Vice president for Medicine & Health at Laureate Education, the network became the largest educator of health professionals globally, with over 255,000 students in more than 40 different degree programs. Prior to this engagement, Dr. Gutierrez operated a specialized consulting firm in health, and before that, he was Director of the International Healthcare Practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Washington DC. He has held senior management positions at several hospitals and outpatient care facilities and has had a private clinical practice as well. He received Medical Doctor and MBA degrees from the prestigious Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and a Masters in Health Finance from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is an advanced member of the American Association for Physician Leadership and a recognized speaker in innovation for higher education in health professions. He is a regular lecturer at Harvard University and has presented his views as guest faculty of several renowned academic medical institutions and universities around the world.

Brian-Justice-DC-AB-New

Brian Justice, DC is a Medical Director at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield since 2012 after being recruited to develop and implement a comprehensive spine program focusing on early contact practitioners. The Spine Health Program is based on a program Dr. Justice co-developed in what is now the Beth-Israel Hospital / Harvard healthcare system in 2009. Aspects of this nationally recognized Spine Health Program have been vetted and shared at multiple universities (Stanford, UCSF, Duke, U. of Pittsburgh…), professional societies, and outcomes published in peer-reviewed journals. Multiple BCBS plans are now implementing this program. Prior to assuming his present position, Dr. Justice graduated Summa Cum Laude from The State University of New York at Brockport, he then attended graduate school at National Chiropractic College in Chicago, IL. Dr. Justice spent 28 years in a spine-focused chiropractic practice in various settings, including a doctor-owned group, hospital-based, and in industry. He has served on many communities and national boards and committees, including professional associations, NCQA and CMS. He has published and presented nationally on spine care, quality improvement, pathway development, wellness/wellbeing and optimal interdisciplinary spine care.

Donald-Murphy-DC-AB

Donald Murphy is a chiropractor by background and a Primary Spine Practitioner by practice, with over 30 years of clinical experience. Dr. Murphy has implemented and overseen an integrated, interdisciplinary spine care pathway that focuses on primary spine care, including for two programs in Rhode Island. Dr. Murphy is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh, and Adjunct Associate Professor, New York Chiropractic College. He lectures throughout the world on various topics related to primary spine care. Dr. Murphy has nearly 100 peer-reviewed journal publications and book chapters. His two-volume book, Clinical Reasoning in Spine Pain Vols I and II, is the required text for Primary Spine Practitioner training.

Dustin-Nabhan

Dustin Nabhan is a healthcare executive and Doctor of Chiropractic with specialty certifications in sports medicine, strength and conditioning and musculoskeletal ultrasonography. He currently serves as the Vice President of Health & Performance for Canyon Ranch, where he leads the health, human performance, nutrition, mental health, and spiritual wellness teams. Before Canyon Ranch, Dr. Nabhan worked for 12 years with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, most recently as the Vice President, Sports Medicine, Research & Innovation, where his primary duties included direction of patient care at Olympic Training Centers and oversight of research and injury prevention programs. Dr. Nabhan is an active clinician-researcher and a Senior Associate Editor for the British Journal of Sports Medicine and a reviewer for several sports medicine journals.
