Jonathan Anthony Enriquez Carlos, DC, SCU Class of 2021 graduate receives NCMIC scholarship

WHITTIER, CA – (Dec. 28, 2021) Jonathan Anthony Enriquez Carlos, DC, SCU Class of 2021 graduate, has received a 2021 third quarter $500 Bucks for Boards scholarship from the National Chiropractic Mutual Insurance Company (NCMIC).

NCMIC, in conjunction with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE), launched the Bucks for Boards program in 2020 to recognize the hard work and dedication of students working toward their Doctor of Chiropractic. All chiropractic students enrolled at a chiropractic college and DCs who graduated within the last six months are eligible to apply.

SCU’s Enriquez Carlos was one of two hundred students to receive a Bucks for Boards scholarship in 2021. NCMIC awards 50 scholarships per quarter, in the amount of $500, which can be applied to the cost of NBCE chiropractic board exams, books, tuition, study materials or any other expenses to which the recipient sees fit.

Dr. Enriquez Carlos, originally from Panorama City, California, completed his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from University of California, Irvine in 2012. He says he “chose the DC program after observing several graduates from this institution. I noticed that the patients treated by the doctors would leave their appointments feeling objectively better than when they first walked in. I love to help people and I knew that this profession was for me.”

“I learned about the NCMIC Bucks for Boards scholarship during Billing and Coding class,” said Dr. Enriquez Carlos. “I’m grateful for the award helping to cover a portion of the cost of his board exams, which I completed in November and recently found out that I passed!”

His words of wisdom for fellow and future students, on studying for boards are to “have different avenues available for studying. Whether it’s your class notes, a review course, group study or even a smartphone app, every little bit goes a long way.”

Chiropractic students interested in applying for the NCMIC Bucks for Boards scholarship may visit the NCMIC Bucks for Boards webpage for more information. The application involves a simple online form, with no essays, no references or complicated financial aid documents to fill out. Students may enter once per entry period and are eligible to win one NCMIC Bucks for Boards scholarship, annually. Winners will be notified by email and/or phone.
