Biography
Dr. Sano is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) specializing in the intersection of orthopedics and pelvic health. Dr. Sano earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Mount Saint Mary’s University. Following a year of clinical practice, she completed the Optum Orthopedic Residency Program, becoming a board certification in 2021.
Currently, Dr. Sano practices at UC San Diego Health, where she serves as a clinical point person, evaluating and managing complex orthopedic cases with pelvic floor involvement. Passionate about advancing the physical therapy profession, she is deeply committed to clinical mentorship and education. Her teaching and leadership roles include serving as a clinical instructor, the UCSD Health PT Internship Coordinator, and a teaching assistant for the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. In her free time, she teaches and practices Kendo (martial arts), enjoys culinary adventures, and plays tennis with her husband.
