Center for Interprofessional Education

Overview

Welcome to the Center for Interprofessional Education!

At the Center for Interprofessional Education (IPE) at SCU, we serve as an incubator of innovation, collaboration, and excellence, dedicated to preparing the next generation of integrative, whole-person practitioners and professionals.

What is IPE?

Interprofessional Education (IPE) is defined by the World Health Organization as the process where "students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes. Interprofessional education is a necessary step in preparing a ‘collaborative practice-ready’ health workforce that is better prepared to respond to local health needs" (World Health Organization, 2010).

Mission
To inspire and transform future health practitioners and professionals through interprofessional education, advancing integrative, whole-person health in our Southern California community and beyond.
