Biography

Rasha Mardini, PsyD holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and master’s degrees in both Clinical Psychology and Counseling Psychology (MFT) from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy. With over two decades of experience in the field and in private practice since 2013, Dr. Mardini has worked extensively with individuals, families, and the college population at institutions including Los Angeles Valley College, Los Angeles Pierce College, and Occidental College, where she completed a diagnostic training year. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Glendale Adventist Hospital and has extensive training in the ICDL DIR®/Floortime™ model.

Dr. Mardini co-directed a pediatric multidisciplinary clinic serving over 500 children with developmental delays and trained psychotherapists, professionals, and caregivers in the DIR play therapy model. She believes deeply in the power of play therapy and honors the uniqueness that each individual brings to the therapeutic process, viewing DIR/Floortime™ as a way of communicating, relating, reflecting, and connecting with children and their families.

Working from a multidisciplinary and systems-based approach, she collaborates with occupational therapists, speech therapists, music therapists, and art therapists to support the whole person and family system. Dr. Mardini’s clinical lens is grounded in cultural sensitivity and an appreciation of individual and intergenerational differences. Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities and holistic practices including mindfulness, present-moment awareness, and mind–body integration, guided by her belief that the body holds lived experience and healing emerges through integrated awareness.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Mardini has taught at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and Reiss-Davis Graduate School. She currently teaches in the PsyD-program in Psychodynamic Psychology at Southern California University of Health Sciences, where she is passionate about mentoring and supporting the development of future clinicians.
