Biography
Mrs. Hall graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Genetic Sciences and a concentration in Cytogenetics. She began her career in laboratory genetics as a cytogenetic technologist, performing cell culture, microscopy, karyotyping and chromosome analysis.
In 2018, Mrs. Hall graduated from Long Island University with a Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling. Continuing her passion for laboratory genetics, she began working as a laboratory genetic counselor for the Johns Hopkins Genomics DNA Diagnostic Lab. There, she was involved in variant interpretation and report writing for NGS and Sanger-based assays, exome sequencing analysis, test development, testing coordination, communication of complex test results, marketing and teaching. She also played a key role in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Mutation Analysis Program, including coordination of the enrollment process, writing clinical reports, and discussion of patient follow-up and management.
Since then, Mrs. Hall has worked for multiple commercial labs including Invitae and Bionano, performing variant curation. Currently, she works for CooperSurgical, reviewing various types of PGT reports with a focus on structural rearrangements. Mrs. Hall remains board-certified as both a technologist in cytogenetics through the American Society for Clinical Pathology and as a genetic counselor through the American Board of Genetic Counseling. When not working, she loves spending time with her pugs, Petunia and Daisy.
