Cory McHale is a board certified, Illinois licensed genetic counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Master of Science in Human Genetics from Sarah Lawrence College.  

She began her career as a clinical genetic counselor where she worked in prenatal and oncology genetics. Cory moved to a sales role for GeneDx in 2016. In 2019, she took a laboratory genetic counseling position at Sema4, and in 2021, she returned to GeneDx as a Hereditary Cancer Clinical Service Liaison.  

Cory is currently spending most of her time with her 3 children, and recently began part-time work for The CEU Shop in addition to SCU. She has a growing interest in whole-person health care and remains passionate about educating patients and providers to assist in making informed medical decisions and order appropriate genetic testing.
