Biography
Dr. Meredith Irizarry is a dedicated physician and educator who has been serving as an assistant professor at Ponce Health Sciences University, where she brings a deep passion for medical education and student development. She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from PHSU in 2017 and has since been actively involved in academic medicine.
With a strong foundation in the basic medical sciences, Dr. Irizarry serves as a professor and course coordinator for Gross Anatomy, Embryology, and Imaging and Neurosciences to both medical and Master of Science in Medical Sciences (MSMS) students. Her versatility as an educator extends to teaching General Anatomy to Nursing and Dental students, demonstrating her ability to connect with learners across disciplines. She has also contributed to interdisciplinary and student-centered learning initiatives like Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Introduction to Clinical Skills, and Community Medicine.
She is known for her unwavering commitment to student success. Her empathetic and compassionate approach fosters a supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to reach their academic and professional goals and can become clinically competent, ethically grounded, and deeply humanistic healthcare providers.
