Biography
Dr. Wendy Sun is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in infant and early childhood
mental health with over 22 years of clinical and supervisory experience. She is among the first
52 California clinicians endorsed by the California Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood
Mental Health and holds their highest designation: Reflective Practice Mentor. Through her
private practice, Dr. Sun works as a therapist, a mental health consultant, a clinical supervisor,
and a trainer. She provides training and reflective consultation for a local Early Head Start
program as well as various early childhood programs. She has presented at national and regional
conferences on topics related to infant and early childhood mental health, conducted training
sessions for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, and taught graduate-level
psychology courses at Alliant International University and the Reiss-Davis Graduate School. Dr.
Sun has also held several leadership roles in the community-based mental health sector. She is
committed to supporting and nurturing early childhood professionals through reflective practice.
Dr. Sun is passionate about delivering trauma-informed, strength-based, and relationship-focused
mental health services to support children in achieving their optimal potentials and to improve
the quality of life for families. Dr. Sun’s teaching philosophy is rooted in a famous quote by Dr.
James Comer: “No significant learning can occur without a significant relationship.
