Biography
Dr. Jory Basso is an award‑winning educator, clinician, and whole‑health advocate with a lifelong love of science and human performance. A Toronto‑area native and self‑described science nerd, he built his career at the intersection of movement, integrative health, and digital learning.
He holds a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from CMCC, a Master of Education in Digital Learning from Ontario Tech University, and advanced training in human kinetics, sports injury management, and strength and conditioning. He founded Hybrid Health and Fitness in downtown Toronto and later taught biological sciences at George Brown College.
Dr. Basso has published over 90 health and fitness articles, produced more than 100 educational videos on HybridDrJ, and appeared on CBC, CTV, and other national media outlets. He has delivered presentations for Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Scotiabank, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, and the Online Learning Consortium.
Now based in Southern California, he serves as Foundational Health Sciences Faculty Lead in SCU’s Doctor of Chiropractic Program and is completing a Whole Health Leadership Doctoral Degree. He is a recent recipient of SCU's Outstanding Teacher Award. Outside of work, he has competed in triathlons, enjoys playing sports with his kids, stays active through regular workouts and cycling, and tinkers with Audi engines. His current research explores the health benefits of sunlight exposure, and his recent publication outlines a systems‑change framework for integrating whole health into chiropractic education.
