Michelle Yanez-Jiminez, EdD
Dr. Yanez began a career of helping businesses grow as the Executive Director of the East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce in 1998. Since then she has honed her skills in business and workforce development for both public and private businesses. Dr. Yanez currently works as the Director of Education Pathways for the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership. She secures industry participation in work-based learning partnerships that support pathways to college or work for K-12, Community College and Adult Ed students in the San Gabriel Valley. Dr. Yanez works collaboratively with PCC, Citrus College, Mt. SAC and Rio Hondo College.
Dr. Yanez is a recently appointed Commissioner to the Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board. She represents the interest of industry for a skilled workforce. Her previous board experience includes a successful election to the Rio Hondo College Board of Trustees. On that board, she represented the Whittier community from 2001-2005, during which time she also helped to pass a $300-million-dollar facility bond.
As a member of the SCU Board of Regents, Dr. Yanez hopes to help the college build bridges with K-12, community colleges and our local community. Dr. Yanez has earned a doctorate of Educational Leadership from CSULB. She also holds a Masters of Public Administration from USC and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from CSULA.
