Joseph G. Voelkel
Dr. Voelkel is Professor Emeritus in the College of Science’s School of Mathematical Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology; a Senior Data Scientist at the Rochester Data Science Consortium at the University of Rochester; and an independent consultant. His interests include Experimental Design, Quality Control and Improvement, Reliability, and non-standard and data-science problems. in the physical and natural sciences. Before RIT, he was a statistical consultant for Allied-Signal, working in chemicals, plastics, fibers, and agricultural products, as well as epidemiological and toxicology studies; and was a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin, specializing in cancer research. His consulting includes clients in the energy, health, optics, electronics, resin, plastics, automotive, laser, and bearing industries. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Quality and currently serves on the editorial board of Quality Engineering. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from RPI, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University, and a Ph.D. from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
