Barbara Gibson is a current research assistant at SCU. She earned her MS in Ecology where she focused her studies and research on Evolutionary and Conservation Biology and worked for 10 years conducting and managing evolutionary genetics research projects and coordinating student and faculty bioenergy research programs at Colorado State University. After expansive experience in mind-body techniques through yoga, she sought work that aligned with her love of research and a deep desire to help others. She trained extensively to become a certified yoga therapist, C-IAYT, worked privately with patients with chronic pain and illness, and created and facilitated yoga protocols for clinical research interventions, at Colorado State University and University of Colorado School of Medicine, focusing on care partners with chronic pain and older adults with high levels of depression and their care partners. Her passions for yoga therapy, research, and education drive her to continuously seek ways in her professional life to help bring integrated whole health care to the forefront of research and create paths to improve the well-being of others.
