SCU to Host 2017 Collegiate National Powerlifting Competition
Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) Sports Medicine Division is set to host the 2017 Collegiate National Powerlifting Competition Feb. 18, 2017. The opportunity presents a full circle moment for SCU—as the university hosted one of the first events referenced as powerlifting in 1960. The sport of powerlifting has since grown—with hundreds of athletes competing worldwide.
As an epicenter for innovative sports medicine education and patient treatment, SCU is a fitting place to host the tournament. The event will feature 60 of the top collegiate powerlifters, who will be competing to qualify for the world championships.
