Dear SCU Community:
As we approach Veterans Day, I would personally like to thank our veterans and active servicewomen and men, as well as their families for their selfless service and sacrifice in defense of our freedom. We owe an unending debt of gratitude to you. On a personal note, I would like to reach out to one very special veteran, my father Jim, and thank him for his service during WWII.
Veterans Day provides us an opportunity to honor and show gratitude to the military members among our SCU community. Every day, we at SCU benefit from the leadership, dedication, and integrity cultivated by our students, faculty, and staff who served in the military. We are sincerely grateful for the contributions they make to our campus life.
As we observe this important holiday, I encourage you to take a moment to say thank you to all of our faculty, staff, students, alumni—and all of those who have served our country. Please also thank those who have supported them and those who have lost loved ones.
As the nation honors our veterans, I believe it is also an opportunity for us to explore what more we can do to support and be inclusive of our campus community who bring with them experience as current or former service members. I am happy to report that we are working on ways to enhance our service offerings for veterans here at SCU. We will provide an update on this soon.
We are fortunate as a nation to have the freedoms each of us enjoys. I hope you will take time to honor the heroes who make this possible—today and always.
With Respect, Honor, and Gratitude,
John Scaringe, DC, EdD
President / CEO
