Licensure and Accreditation
The Massage Therapy Certificate Program is approved by the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) and SCU has over 20 years of regional accreditation through WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).
Graduates of this program are prepared to take the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) governed by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB). The MBLEx is currently utilized for licensure in all regulated states, as well as the territories of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Not everyone who walks into the office for massage therapy comes for relaxation. They come with many types of issues. SCU equipped me to handle those issues so they could feel better walking out than they did walking in.
– Patricia Johnson
I really valued the supportive instructors in the massage therapy program at SCU. They were approachable and spent time making sure nobody was left behind. They made room for us to develop our unique styles, while also stepping in to give pointers geared towards the individual student. We were given a well-rounded education into the world of integrative health and the practicalities of the business side of massage. I also truly appreciate the emphasis placed on self-care to encourage a healthy balance for us as massage therapists, while in turn, benefiting those we treat.
