The Seabury Learning Resource Center (LRC) at SCU offers a variety of resources to students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The Seabury Learning Resource Center (LRC) at SCU offers a variety of resources and services to students, faculty, alumni and staff. The LRC is composed of the Library, a well-equipped Computer Lab and the Academic Support Center. The LRC is also a central place on campus for meeting your fellow students for group study/work.
The LRC is equipped to provide biomedical, chiropractic, acupuncture, oriental medicine, and alternative medicine information and bibliographies through our Library Catalog, EbscoHost, OVID, and other specialty databases (300+). The computer lab with 37 workstations is equipped with Internet and Intranet access for use during library hours. Patrons with laptops can access the Internet and Intranet through a WI-FI connection from any room in the library.
The LRC Forum is the main reading room where the patrons may consult the reference and reserve materials as well as our current journals. The LRC subscribes to over 200 scientific periodicals (many electronic). The audio- and videotape collections are also located in the Forum.
The General and AOM circulating books, Career Development materials and bound journals are located in the General Collection Room. The Library Catalog contains over 10,000 entries for textbooks, books, A/V materials, journals, calculators, bones, AOM herbs and other demonstration materials.
If you need an article which is not available through our databases or bound journals, the LRC can get it for you! Using the collections the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (DOCLINE) – we can get that article.
The LRC is also home to a student tutoring service and the Academic Support Center. Our goal is a more confident student. The program is meant to work with you whether you are struggling, or need an extra boost. Assistance is available for time management, note and test reviews and mock pre-board exams. Students who have used this program have seen better academic performance.
Regular Hours of Operation:
The LRC is open six days per week and is staffed by highly qualified personnel and part-time assistants.
