Advanced Certificate in Natural (Life) Sciences for Health Professions Plan of Study

Completion requirements: 2.75 GPA overall and a minimum completion of 44 units/credits completed outlined below. Certification also requires passing a content examination in the subject area(s) in which certification is sought.

General Chemistry 1 (A) - 4 units/credits

Physics 1 (A) - 4 units/credits

Biology 1 (A) - 4 units/credits

Supplemental Courses:

Students may need or want to take additional courses to better prepare them for application to certain types of health professional schools. Some schools require additional course work or students may want to add additional course work to help boost their academic preparation in the eyes of health professional school admissions.

Program Structure and Scheduling:

This program is an accelerated certificate program that can be completed in 6 months. Classes meet every weekend for a four week period and a final exam is administered during the week following course completion. Beginning Spring 2009 all courses will begin at the beginning of each month.

Suggested Order of Courses:

It is suggested that student's follow a set order of courses to complete the certificate. Courses can be taken out of sequence provided all prerequisite courses have been met.
