Richard M. Burger, D.C., CCSP, DIBAK
Dr. Burger is Clinic Director of the San Diego Sports Medicine Chiropractic Clinic in the community of Pacific Beach. He received his undergraduate pre-med training at San Diego State University where he was distinguished with Honors at Entrance and placed on the Dean's List. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology with a minor in chemistry in 1974. He continued at SDSU with a year of graduate studies in anthropology before enrolling in the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Dr. Burger graduated from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic as the Valedictorian, first in his class of over 100 in 1979.
Dr. Burger has taught at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and has been an Adjunct Professor with Texas Chiropractic College and has Preceptor Faculty positions with Southern California University of Health Sciences and Palmer College of Chiropractic West.
Dr. Burger is a Certified Chiropractic Team Physician and is a Clinic Advisor for the American Running Association. He has treated many world class athletes and has been the team doctor to university track and field, cross country, and professional triathlete teams. He was also the team chiropractor for the 1995 Young America Syndicate America's Cup Challenge. Dr. Burger has been listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities as well as Who's Who in Chiropractic.
His credentials include a Diplomate in Applied Kinesiology which is the highest level of academic achievment in his specialty. He has over 27 years of practice experience in Pacific Beach, CA. As a Diplomate in Applied Kinesiology (AK), Dr. Burger has been actively involved in teaching his specialty to other doctors for many years.
Dr. Burger is a member of the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK) and serves on the Board of Certified Teachers and the Board of Standards. He was recently honored with the Research Paper of the Year Award for 2003-2004, and again for 2006-2007 from the International College of Applied Kinesiology. He also serves as a member of the Board of Regents of the Southern California University of Health Sciences.
