Why Los Angeles Chiropractic College?

Chiropractic

Doctors of chiropractic are taking their rightful place in today's society as primary care practitioners for those patients desiring alternative health care options.  As the pioneer and leader of innovative chiropractic education, we invite you to explore the many advantages that Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC) at Southern California University of Health Sciences offers its students.  Among them are a quality curriculum from a dedicated, preeminent faculty, committed to excellence in research and educational creativity.  LACC also administers hands-on participation for students starting in the first trimester.  Consider why we believe the College can provide you with the kind of learning environment you're seeking.

Why LACC?

Here are some of the advantages we believe make SCU the perfect choice:

Location – Your college experience should offer more than just education. This is an exciting time in your life and should be filled with a variety of personal growth opportunities as well as professional directions. Southern California provides everything an independent individual seeks to enrich the body and soul as well as the mind.

Admission Requirements – SCU demands more from incoming students -- and those requirements are reflected in quality interaction with peers and faculty throughout the education process.

Accreditation – What a statement this makes; we’re not only accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), but we’ve received an unprecedented 10-year accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the only chiropractic institution so honored.

"SCU provided me with the skills and education to become a clinically and technically competent professional."
- Dr. Andrea Sinclair

National Board Scores – For current National Board Examination results of SCU students compared to the national mean, please click here.

Student/Faculty – Intern/Clinician Ratios – The average has been 15/1 student/faculty and 10/1 intern/clinician.

Technique Curriculum – At present, 600 hours are dedicated to a diversified approach to technique in the pre-clinical program and 150 hours are devoted to physical therapy and rehabilitation. We initiate basic surface palpation and joint assessment in the first two terms and progress from there. Bottom line, you receive more hands-on experience earlier than at other colleges.

Costs – We believe we provide a great return on your investment. Our academic year is two terms (eight months) and the school year is three terms (12 months). Our Financial Aid Department works with students to ensure all costs are detailed up front, with no unexpected fees or charges after enrollment. In addition, SCU offers a work study program which allows students part-time employment opportunities.

These are just a few of the reasons why SCU should be at the top of your list.
