SCU recognizes the need to provide opportunities to students who may come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Diversity amongst SCU’s constituents remains to be a priority. SCU is a registered mentor group for the Inland Empire Scholarship Fund (ISEF) which is a program that assists underserved Latino/Latina students in the Inland Empire and has lectured on topics in Alternative Health Care at local Latino/ Latina College and Universities. SCU is a proud sponsor of the Western Regional Conference of the Student American Black Chiropractic Association (SABCA).
Dr. Charles L. Cooke Scholarship
The Dr. Charles L. Cooke scholarship is available to students who are entering the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Student must be of African-American origin with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 in their undergraduate studies. Applicants for the scholarship must write an essay on a topic that will discuss ways to further the recognition and acceptance of chiropractic within the African-American community.
Dr. Lester McCoy Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. Lester McCoy Memorial Scholarship was created to attract students with good character, integrity, and a commitment to service and humanity into the field of chiropractic and to the University. Applicants must have a cumulative 2.75 GPA in all under-graduate courses prior to matriculation to SCU. Applicants must have a demonstrated history of dedicated civic, community or humanitarian service and write an essay on the experience of humanitarianism.
Dr. Gertrude Dunsworth Scholarship
The Dunsworth Scholarship was created to assist students matriculating into The Los Angeles College of Chiropractic who come from Native American, African American or Latin American Descent. Applicants must have a cumulative 2.75 GPA in all under-graduate courses prior to matriculation to SCU and must complete an application.
